Ready to start your journey with CIAT? There’s no better time than right now. At the California Institute of Arts & Technology, we’ve made the admissions process as easy as 1, 2, 3. Simply follow these steps to jumpstart your path to earning a degree or certificate in IT, software development, graphic design, or web design. We truly appreciate your interest in our programs, and we can’t wait to meet you.

Admissions Documentation​:

Supplemental Materials

Once you’ve completed your application, be sure to submit a copy of your high school diploma or equivalent documentation to our Office of Admissions. Additional documentation can include your GED, DD-214, and college transcripts.

Scholastic Level Exam

If you’ve earned less than six college-level semester credit hours, you’ll need to complete a Scholastic Level Exam (SLE). We’ll provide you with a link to the exam via email once you submit your application.

Proof of Identity

We need you to submit a government-issued proof of identity showing a photo and your age (e.g., a driver’s license, or passport with picture) to our Office of Admissions once you’ve completed your application.

New Students

The CIAT experience is unlike any other. Because of our comprehensive, hands-on education and career-focused curriculum, our courses and programs are designed with your success in mind. We provide the tools you’ll need to reach all of your professional goals with our training, state-of-the-art equipment, and job placement services. Ready to dive in?

Military

We’re committed to helping service members and veterans take their education to the next level. We currently offer nine different programs for active duty members and veterans along with multiple certifications and trainings. Whether you’re transitioning back into civilian life or are advancing your career in the armed forces, you’ll graduate from CIAT feeling empowered.

Returning Students

We know timing is everything when it comes to school, and sometimes you need to step back and take a break. If you’re returning to CIAT after some time off, you’ll need to reach out to your academic advisor to see how to pick up where you left off.

Transferring Students

Transferring to CIAT is easier than ever. Simply submit your transcripts to have them reviewed for credits you’ve earned at other colleges and universities. We’ll also take into account any military training and professional experience you’ve acquired. And remember, you’re not alone in this journey. Our academic advisors are always ready to help out.

Students With Disabilities

CIAT recognizes and accepts its obligations under The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibiting discrimination on the basis of a disability and requiring that reasonable accommodations be provided to qualified disabled students in all programs and activities within the control of the institution, provided such accommodation would not impose an unreasonable burden on the school or other students. The accommodation provided by CIAT is free of charge.
